MVP

I am hoping to establish a minimum viable product line with one programmable knitting machine capable of doing mass customization a la French Rags.

My goal is to produce enough styles of pieces (tops, skirts, pants, etc) to manufacturer the Basic Monotone wardrobe in a limited selection of colors and patterns. I believe I can pull off houndstooth check, stripes of some sort, windowpane plaid and flecked pieces from the start, though it may take more time to develop complicated patterns like florals and paisley.

I am medically handicapped. I would like to try to arrange production in a live-work space where I can work at will whenever I feel up to it.

From the start, I have always envisioned this as a means to produce a line of clothes I can wear to solve my own problems. I imagined getting a knitting machine and playing with it until I had pieces I liked and then making the successful pieces available for sale online and/or via a storefront with limited hours.

Ideally, the materials being used will be mostly natural fibers, though I am amenable to something like a cotton-polyester blend for ease of care and wrinkle resistance.

I love cotton-silk blends as well, but I imagine the initial MVP will probably be cotton or a cotton-polyester blend.

A key piece to making this work is making an interface where customers can play with the designs and create a custom wardrobe. I'm confident this technology is within reach because it's similar to how Blogger sites work (the platform for this very website) where Google provides complete website templates and the means to tweak elements of the design as much or as little as you like in a user-friendly fashion that accommodates a broad range of individual skill levels.
